Too busy to guess I guess?
-
[4:54 PM]
I challenged my brother to guess what this drug was the other day and I haven't received a guess.... so I'll spill the beans, like you're interested in knowing.
It's MethylPREDNISolone.
Movie line of the week answer
-
[9:20 AM]
Well I got three answers yesterday, two correct. Our winner is the venerable Steven Vore, A.K.A. Mr. Movie Line. Robert Dodd also has a knack for movie line guessing but was just a little too late pressing the send button. Thanks for playing guys.
The correct answer is... Thanks for stopping by!
DOH!

Dave Winer[Scripting News]: "I've never understood why Sun has a right to bundle its language with Windows. Sheez, I'd love to bundle Radio with Windows. How about it?" - Dave get's it but most folks don't because they don't really understand the idea of OS's, applications, and tools. Java is a great language, I'd never argue otherwise, but Sun shouldn't get special treatment. If you want the Java VM just go download it! Sun could also strike a deal with AOL to ship it on those annoying CD's we get in the mail and just install it when AOL is installed, right?
Why doesn't Sun bundle the .NET CLR with Solaris? Okay-okay so it's not a complete implementation, YET, but it could be. Most folks would say "That's just stupid", and I'd say you're correct, but Sun's argument is no better.
I dunno, this whole thing is plain silly.

Could it be?

[5:05 PM]
Many moons ago when I got started writing programs I worked for a little company called AgData, circa 1989-91. Back then I used Microsoft Basic PDS(Professional Development System). It was a wonderful language and the third-party community was VERY active. When AgData hired me my first job was to make a C code library work with their existing system developed in Basic. It took me a while to figure out how to do this but I eventually got it working and integrated into the system, but I digress. During my exploration of Basic to C and C to Basic I ran across a gentleman named Phil Weber that helped me with some hurdles, I don't remember what they were I just remember talking with him. So while reading Scoble this morning I noticed a link to Phil Weber, can this be the guy? Something tells me it probably is!
Thanks Kevin!

Kevin Medeiros is the man! Kevin took a few minutes to create the cool new title graphic with a Christmas theme.
It's beautiful Kevin, thanks!
Hey, if I can't have snow on the ground right outside my door at least I can have it on my blog! Woo-hoo!
The perils of success

Robert Dodd: "I picked up 2 more clients this week and I am currently backlogged on three other web apps. So I am going to start juggling five client websites all with good sized databases and CMS capabilities." - Hang in there Robert! And might I suggest looking into some CMS systems that you could customize for your clients instead of rolling your own? Manila for instance? There are plenty of others out there as well if you need to be able to extend them in a language you're accustomed to. Manila's scripting language; UserTalk, is different, especially for those of us used to scripting with VB or JScript.

Missed everyone last week due to Turkey day, sorry about that. Try this one on for size.
Cute kid, bad judge of character. Ok, quick, what movie! Send your guesses here.

Sounds like winter, doesn't it?
-
[11:45 PM]
Looks like the South is in a deep freeze?
The one horrible thing about living in California is it doesn't get cold. I miss the cold, I miss the snow. People think I'm insane but I love snow. The best we can do in the Valley is fog. It's the closest thing to the peace snow brings. If you don't know what I mean step outside during a snowfall and just listen to it. It makes everything, and everyone, slow down and coats everything in a shiny white blanket.
More SVG to VDX

Arnab Nandi sent me a pointer to another Visio VDX to SVG converter. Cool!

Ok Jay, here it is. What drug is this?
And of course this drawing was created with Visio and our ancient, in the dust pile, Chemistry shapes.

Dear Santa...

I would like a Compaq Tablet PC TC1000 for Christmas.
Thank you.
P.S. - I've been a very good boy this year!
Hello all....

[10:54 AM]
The shoulder is looking better. The Doc sent me out for X-rays last night and the results look promising to me, I'm no expert but I couldn't see any fractures on the film. It looks like a sprain so I'll be good to go Saturday night. Gotta get started on cortisone right away. (Maybe my brother can point me to a better RX site for cortisone?)
Potter Hint Card
There's a big hubbub in the Potter Universe as Sotheby's prepares to auction off a card with clues to book five. Check out HPANA for details.

Good Mornin!
-
[9:33 AM]
Wow, it's been a while! We had a great Thanksgiving I hope yours was as well! I ate entirely too much Turkey!
This years day after Thanksgiving movie was Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets! I loved it! I'd say it's better than the first because the characters are really starting to come to life, IMHO This movie was indeed darker and funnier than the first. The only down side about the film is the amount of jumping around it does, but unfortunately it has to. The books are so rich and filled with the most imaginative things that one couldn't possibly show it all on the big screen or you'd have a five hour movie! All in all I thought it was a wonderful film and I'll go back to see it again just so I can absorb more of the action. Now we wait for the next big movie of the fall, Lord of the Rings!
Are you ready for some football?
We're in our last week of practice for The Big Game with Woodlake. We're putting the final touches on our teams and getting excited about Saturday night. Yesterday we went through special teams and I managed to tweak my shoulder! We needed a kickoff team to run against our kick return team so I decided I'd head out onto the field and play wedge-buster, it's fun! So on the third kick I busted the wedge and my shoulder all at the same time. I finished out practice but I'm not sure what's wrong with it at this point. The Dr. will let me know at 3:40 this afternoon. Keep your fingers and toes crossed. I have to find a way to play so hopefully it's not too bad.
