Union's stink!
-
[3:11 PM]
Yet another reason to hate unions. I could go on all day about this but I don't have the time right now.
Poor, poor millionaires. I love the game guys, did you get that? It's a game. Boycott baseball.
Where was I when Elvis died?
-
[1:48 PM]
That's an easy question to answer. It's what I'll remember as the best time of my life. I was nine years old and baseball was the love of my life, I remember it well. On this day 25 years ago I was standing in the middle of Page Street in Lindsay, California; 809 N. Page to be exact (my grandparents house), playing baseball. I remember a friends mom coming outside to tell us Elvis had died, we all stopped playing to listen to the radio.
Movie line of the week answer
-
[7:45 AM]
Good mornin' Y'All!
I thought this line would get more answers then it did because the movie is really new and just released on DVD. I'm declaring two winners today because one lives in another country and can't compete head-to-head with those of us in the states. In fact I think I'm going to make this an ongoing thing. If I can get answers from outside the country. This is the WWW after all, not the USW!
The correct answer is...
So our domestic winner is Mr. Steven Vore. Steven seems to answer the movie line of the week EVER week, but he always seems to come in second or third. He's on the "right" coast (East) and is probably getting ready to eat grub about the time I post the question. Anyway congratulations Steven!
Our long distance winner is Mr. Joe Friend. He won a couple of weeks back as well. Joe lives in Indonesia. Congratulations Joe!

Right back at ya!
-
[3:06 PM]
Thanks Steve! Happy belated anniversary to you and Julia, 26 years strong! I guess August is a good time to get married.
I also like to call this day our birthday.

Note to Steve...

[9:41 AM]
I'll have one of these for Christmas. Thank you.
Off the deep end?

Zeldman: "The secret is out. Actually, of course, both 'Eric Meyer' and 'Jeffrey Zeldman' are aliases of Vicki Wong, who in turn is but a fictional character developed by Amy Franceschini to disguise the fact that she’s really Eric Brooks. Heather Champ is Steven Champeon, who’s actually an AI program developed at M.I.T. and housed on 14 mainframes." - We love Zeldman. He has it all figured out for us.
On this day...

[8:15 AM]
15 years ago I married the love of my life. Two children, three homes, two moves to and from Seattle, three dogs, six cats, and many ups-and-downs later we're still together and going strong. So I'd like to say happy anniversary honey; and thanks, thanks for saying yes and putting up with all my weirdness over the years. I wouldn't be who I am today without you.

Has it been a year?
-
[3:00 PM]
On this day last year Dave ran a story on DaveNet about the Blogger API. It's hard to believe it's been around that long.
It looks like the Blogger API turned one on August 7th, happy belated birthday!
Same old stuff...
-
[8:39 AM]
...different day.
Nothing really new in the world. Economy is still stinky, we're still talkin' smack with Iraq, and there's no telling how long it's going to take to snuff out al Queda. As Pooh would say "Oh bother". One day we'll look back and say "You remember when..." and amaze the younger generation with our stories of terrorism, hopefully the book publishers will get it right (even if they don't the web will still be alive, I hope!)
Anyway enough with the dreary poo-poo. Microsoft has finally announced the date for XBox live, sweet! Having become a raving XBox lunatic over the past couple of weeks this is very exciting news. The XBox could be such a killer poor-mans web device and this just opens the door to it. Look for it to go live November 15th of this year. So would someone, anyone, PLEASE get broadband working in Exeter, CA? Hello... Charter Communications, are you listening? There are people in Exeter that'll pay you for high speed internet (as long as you don't try to stick it to us because we're a small community that is. ) This is when I start thinking about buying my own DSLAM and finding a closet somewhere to house it. Anyone interested?

Why Tigger? Well I just thought this site was looking a little orange deficient.
Whatcha' think?
Good Mornin'

News.com: "Open-source software advocates will unfurl a legislative proposal next week to prohibit the state of California from buying software from Microsoft or any other company that doesn't open its source code and licensing policies. " [via Scripting News] - Good grief Charlie Brown! Very funny guys. I just don't have the words for how silly this is, here's a link instead. Enjoy!
Bill's the man!
Mr. Lazar is a man after my own heart! I love movies and having a list like this is really nice. Thanks Bill!
