Tetris.NET?

If you've installed .NET you have to download the new Tetris.NET by Mr. Richard Caetano. He wrote it with the initial beta of C# and the .NET framework and apparently it still works. Give it a go, it's fun.

Disney's Go.Com?

News.Com: "Walt Disney, which just two years ago touted Go.com as its Web portal to the 21st century, has set more modest goals for its online unit in a new era of diminished expectations." - I LOVE Go.com. I used it as my portal for quite a long time. Does anyone remember the name of the tool the Disney Media Group used to create Go.com? It was called Tea. They gave the source away just before Go.com got up and went. I still have it floating around here somewhere.

Pharmacokinetics

I dare you to say that five times, real fast! A couple of years ago my brother and I pounded out this simple windows based pharmacokinetics calculator when we took our mom to see some doc's at UCSF. If you're a Pharmacist and have questions about what the calculator does please ask my brother. No guarantees on the output. If it acts goofy let me know and I'll try to fix it up.

Movie line of the week answer

Weird Science, movie posterWell yesterday's movie line only produced two guesses, I didn't expect many to begin with.

The correct answer is Weird Science.

Congratulations to my brother; Jay, or Jerry as the rest of the world knows him.

Roll film!Movie line of the week

The week may have been shortened by a holiday but it's still Thursday here in California, and that means it's movie line time! Here it is...

How about a nice greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray
Ok, quick, what movie! Send your guesses here.

Coolio, Radio RSS works!

Thanks to Mr. Steven Vore for being my first victim! I really appreciate the double-check Steven.

Oh, one other thing. What if Blockbuster had an online ordering system that would allow you to order your video from a local store, then drive up to a kiosk that would scan your card and drop your rental out the bottom. Kinda like an ATM and a vending machine all rolled into one. I for one would LOVE something like that. The kiosk would need to be near the store but I don't have a problem with that.

RSS feed now available!

Look over there to the left! See those orange XML buttons, click the one on the left to see raw RSS and the one on the right if you use Radio UserLand!

Please let me know if it doesn't work and I'll be happy to fix it up!

Bear with me, please?

Like I said I'm experimenting with RSS publication. Apparently my RSS file wasn't generated for the last post because MSXML returned error 0x80072efd during publication. I'm not sure if that's really the problem or not, but the RSS.xml file certainly isn't being published!

I'll keep pluggin' away. It'll come some day, I hope!

UPDATE: I'll take everything back! It DID publish! Woo-Hoo!!!!

Good Mornin' Y'All

Sunrise over the San Joaquin Valley! It's another beautiful day in the San Joaquin Valley! Time to get out and smell the roses, take a LONG head clearing walk, and write some code. Since we (Visio) became a part of Microsoft I've become a lot busier. I'm not sure why that is? Maybe it's because we're trying to do more, maybe not? I keep wondering why it is but I don't really have a good answer. Maybe it just seems like it? The last release of Visio was my most productive release. I worked on a totally new feature. Brand spanking new source from the ground up. Maybe I feel so busy this go because I'm working in old code? I don't know, I think I just need a vacation. The long three-day weekend helped a LOT. Life is just too darned short to be overly busy.

I'm doing a little experiment this morning. I'm trying to publish this post as RSS as well; so bear with me, it may work, then again it may not.

Nice weekend

I've never been to the mountain community of Pine Flat. Some friends invited us to spend the weekend with them at their cabin so we drove up on Sunday afternoon and spent the night. I think I can speak for the entire family when I say we had a great time. It was very relaxing and I finally learned how to play horseshoes!

Out of tragedy

At the end of March two robbers shot it out with police in the parking lot of a strip mall here in Visalia. A young man and his family just happened to be eating lunch in an Arby's that shared the parking lot with the store that was robbed. Police were able to drop one of the men, but not before a stray bullet struck Mr. Jeffrey Donaldson.

The Arby's restaurant announced last week it would donate all funds collected on Saturday to the family of the victim. My wife called this morning and said they had raised over $17,000.00 for the family.

Side note: I'd love to find the article on The Visalia Times Delta's web site but I cannot find any place to do a search, that's why I'm pointing to the Fresno Bee's site. Why no search feature on the site? They must be afraid of new technology stealing subscribers or something?
