Movie line of the week answer
The answer is George of the Jungle. I love this flick it's just plain goofy fun!
Mr. Niklas Gustavsson was first with the correct answer. Congratulations Niklas!
Tar and feather him!
So I get in this morning and see that my build didn't work! DRAT!!!!! I hate that! So I start trying to figure out what's going on, look in the usual places, go check e-mail. See one titled "FW:Build Breaker!", my heart sinks. I broke the build. Ohhhh the pain.
That'll teach me to move a file without pulling the latest source first! DOH!

Interesting!
Wired News: "President and COO Rick Belluzzo was a victim of a restructuring plan designed to ensure that Microsoft can survive both an uncertain economy and a possible breakup of the company." - Very interesting take on the whole deal. So is Mr. Belluzzo going to pursue a position as CEO of the newly formed HP/Compaq? At one time he was considered the front runner for CEO of HP. Hmmmmmmm...

Happy Birthday!
DaveNet: "Four years of XML-RPC" - Wow, it's just four? For a toddler it sure is mature. Thanks for the hard work Dave!
AOL CD's
Besides using my AOL CD's as coasters I've decided to do something new with them. I'm going to start mailing them back to the company!
Please join in on the fun! Here's their address.

I'm a Pro now...
I've upgraded this site to Blogger Pro, have you upgraded yours? Why upgrade? Well I think we need to support Evan, don't you?

Big Thanks!
Mr. Lawrence Lee of UserLand came to my rescue last night! My page is working now, see! Woo-Hoo!
Just following his instructions to figure out why Mail-to-Weblog wasn't working was a neat experience. He had me do this....- Choose Tools->Developers->Quick Script
- Paste tcp.getMail ("myPophost.com", "myAcctName", "secretPW", @temp.mailstorage, flMessages:true) in the editor
- Replace parameters with appropriate POP account information
- Click Run
- You will see status messages in the About window when you click Run to help debug.
This thing totally rocks! Oh look, a shiny object on my display! Now I'm gonna have to learn how to tweak and twist and beat Radio into submission. You will serve me Radio, you will.
Is it summer, or spring?
Lately our valley has been really, really hot! Yesterday's high was in the upper 80's. That's not unusual for mid-to-late May, but April! Remember that old saying "April showers bring May flowers." This is usually a rainy time for us. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the sunshine. Clouds will probably move in soon enough and drown out the sun.

Calling all Radio heads!
Ok, so I've moved Radio to another computer. I think that was mistake #1. Then I decided I wanted to ftp to a different location, mistake #2! DOH! Is there anyone out there in Radio land that can help with the following problems.- OPML mug not showing up - For some reason my page on the web is looking for a directory on my machine.
- How do I change the home page file name? I'd like to use default.htm, instead of index.html. Can I change it?
- I can't seem to get Mail-to-Weblog to work? Anyone doing this?
I'm such a newbie! DRAT! I really want to get this site up and running ASAP. I've been sitting on Radio for far too long, it's time to get it working.
I'd like to make this site look, feel, and behave like DaveNet. Can I do that with Radio? I'm sure I can, but I had to ask.
I'm sure they're just rookie mistakes, but I don't know how to fix them... Help.... Please....

Slight exaggeration?
Okay, okay! So yesterday's announcement about being bought by Apple was of course an April fools joke, like anyone would believe it anyway! I had planned a more elaborate announcement complete with a news item that looked just like an official Apple news item.
Why didn't I do it? Good question! When I got in yesterday morning and saw that my build had failed I was off in 'mad guy' mode trying to figure out what happened. Checking e-mail I found that our source control system had an issue over the weekend, that's really swell. So yesterday was pretty much a wasted day waiting for our source database to be repaired; which I'm happy to report it was, nothing lost!
Today is much better, the build worked! Ahhhhh I love the smell of fresh brewed source in the morning!
Around the web
Red Herring: The State of Silicon Valley, Inc. - I love the authors name, Anthony B. Perkins. I'll bet he lives in a scary house on top of the hill.

Good Mornin'
Well this morning the assets of crabapples.net were purchased by Apple Computer for $5 million in stock and cash. For full details visit Apple's website and search for "crabapples".
The net effect is I can now quit my job and run this site full time. Things won't change too much but you can expect some surprises! Stay tuned!
Fun with aliens?
This weekend my youngest daughter decided she should create some friends. Here's the result. Nice!
